Safe Haven PSA

September is Safe Haven Awareness Month. Monmouth County Commissioner Deputy Director Sue Kiley, Liaison to the County’s Health and Human Services, wants you to know about the New Jersey Safe Haven Infant Protection Act. This act allows parents or other representatives of an infant to anonymously surrender them at any hospital emergency room, police station, fire station or first aid rescue squad that is staffed 24 hours, 7 days a week. Safe Haven is to protect babies from unsafe abandonment which can put them in extreme danger. For more information, call the Safe Haven Hotline at 1-877-839-2339.
